hello all please help me out here i have a black misbar clown that has inflamed anal area. I have not idea what it can be please let me know. My assumption is that shes pregnant. I have 2 black misbar clowns and one regular clown. The clown that has the issue is the biggest clown in the tank. It is hard to see if she has been cleaning rocks and burrowing sand because she hangs out behind my rock near the overflow and its very difficult to see in that area. The only reason I noticed the issue is because she come out rarely to the front of the tank to swim around. I fed last night and didnt notice her to eat anything either. All my water params are good incase you guys would ask.

Check out the picture.

Sorry I have not seen this, I will see what I can do to help you.

How long have you had it?
Are you sure it is a female? Just checking as I can not tell the size nor the male's size from the picture.

An inflamed orbitropiter (or poked out) will look like a small funnel coming out in a pregnant female.

If you take a clean 4x4 tile (white or what ever) in your tank and place it near where the clowns stay, then you may help them spawn on it.

Agreed that being in the back is hard to say.

Can you put a video camera or anything back there to see it?

Well, sometimes we just don't have an answer or enough info to give proper advice.
TO OP I just have not seen or heard of this and I'm sure it's difficult to get a close up.
My first thought w/out seeing a pic was could your clown be spawning, as my female does appear red in that area beforehand.
Info specs and pics will help.

Hey guys it's like worm said it looked like a small funnel coming out...she is the biggest clown next to the other 2 I have...and it went away 2 days later and she swimming around like normal again so I think I'm going with that she was pregnant and she gave birth and they all were fish food
