Whats wrong with my clown?

I have a pair of False percs. I have had them for about a month and the Female will not leave the Corner of the Tank. Its like she is hosting the glass. Has anyone ever heard of this?

Yes, mine did that too and it drove me crazy. They didn't act like they wanted a host at all. I had no anemones in that tank, but there are toadstools, hairy, torch coral, frogspawn, etc. They wanted none of it. They just hung in a corner of the tank. Everyone told me it wasn't "normal" behaviour and they were either sick or being harrassed, although I saw no signs of either.

Then I set up a cube just for them and a nem. The fish were in there for a month before I added anything and they acted the same exact way. I then put in their native anemone, a magnifica, and they were in it immediately. They were like whole new fish. They went from my most disliked fish to my favorites. Although the mag died, they then went into a haddoni carpet and things have been great.

My guess is that if I were to place them back into the other tank again, they would find something else to go in now that they have learned what it is like.

Mine have "hosted" the corner as well. They come out all of the time though to pick around and eat. The male seemed to like the duncan i had, but has since gone back to its corner.

haha its funny that mine also "host" the corner. They do wander around usually around the front of the tank, but want nothing to do with my corals or anemone.

WOW, Im glad im not the only one that has this problem. I have tried to push them into my anemone. I just replaced these "clowns" with another pair I had now im regreating it. I hope they will come around.

I've had 2 sets of true percs and they both just stop swimming at night and float sideways in the corner. My ocellaris have never done that.

mine do the same thing, they havent hosted the carpet i put in yet. They will get to it sooner or later.

I had a pair of black and white occelaris and would only use the powerhead in the back of the tank as their host. They would also hang out near the top of the tank, clowns are just weird like that I guess.

A pair of falsies were the first fish in my tank. they stayed in one corner day and night unless they were being fed. A month or so later I bought a Seabae anemone (without doing my research, my newbie bad.) The Seabae thrived but the clowns would not go near it. A month ago, one of the clowns took up residence in the Seabae, but the other one still won't go that close. This is after almost a year! Very strange, but I've heard not necessarily unusual.

Update: My second clown is now hosting in the Seabae just in the last couple of days. After a year.
