whats your experience with a. hoeksemai?

High Light! Medium flow. I have 2 in my tank. One high placement and the other lower. The first one I got (high placement) has taken a long time to sprout, but all of a sudden it is on a tear. I now need to clear room for him. :)

good call blaker, I never really thought about it before but mine is rather sheltered from flow but getting blasted with light.

I have one I kept alive now for 6 months I didn"t know they were hard to keep. I have mine about 12" from a 8 bulb powermodule in medium flow. I guess I just got lucky with keeping it alive.

I got a frag broken of a wild colony of this beauty last year, has it taken a beautiful blue tone and growing steadily for me... was not affected in a mini-crash this summer when I lost a loripes colony and almost my superman monti...
It is receiving 300-400 PAR (has been under leds, mh, and now t5h0 !!!) and is growing faster and bluer since my switch to T5H0 (a month)
medium to high flow for me...

My experience on Hoek. Picked up a wild piece from DD a year ago, and it's doing amazingly well. Really good polyp extension and was able to survive a minor sps crash around Labor Day Weekend when other wild sps died off. The color is not as blue as the pics of the aquacultured dd hoeks, but still a very nice blue.

Mine gets a lot of flow and about 20-25 inches under 400 radiums. Maybe I'll get more color if it's closer to the light, but I'll wait until it grows taller and see.

So far so good, excellent PE during the interceptor bath last night. I'll snap some pics tonight after work.

Yeah, I remember those turquoise hued ones several month ago at various online vendors.

Mine is a pretty fast grower but not quite as colorful as some of the previous ones. I got it from Atlantis. It has grown from a little over an inch to this:

This picture is under just white LED's to show true color as best as I could. The coral looks much bluer with the blue LED's lit. This is about eight months growth under LED lighting, in the top half of my tank with fairly high flow. The Tailspot Blenny in the right side of the image will give you scale. It is worth noting that this coral really encrusted the rock I mounted it to before it started to shoot up and out. It always has the best PE, unless I turn off the pumps to take a picture.
