How do you determine if it is the fault of the seller or purchaser?
You can't.
Do we have fish that go out that wouldn't have made it even in the hands of the most experienced hobbyists... of course.
Do we have fish that seemed fine, but just couldn't take the joys of being bounced around by FedEx and pass away... sure.
Do we have fish that die due to something not being 100% correct in a customers QT / Display... of course.
Lucky for both parties there are lots of online sellers who honor their guarantees and for us there are honest hobbyists that will let us know if they do something wrong.
Had a $$$$ fish pass away after a day and the customer called as back the next day after he reported the death and said there was something wrong with his QT system and didn't want the $$$$ back.
I was blown away. Needless to say he's been a great customer and bought a replacement a few weeks later and it's going great now
