I have a few fish that are visually stunning, but my pink margin wrasse has the looks and the personality.

Would love to know how you keep that PBT with all those butterflies/MI. Mine will sometimes go on a rampage and terrorize everything in the tank.

My PBT has always been mellow around other fish.... back when he was in the reef, and now in the FOWLR.

For me it is hands down a Yasha Haze Goby. It is also the ONLY fish I currently have so my choice was pretty easy.

Not as fancey or as pretty but my pair of chalk bass are awesome. Seems like they have a synchrnized swimming class every evening.

I use to have a pair, I loved them... definitely undervalued!

Here is my lil fav:

I got lucky w one my LFS had for a while in a frag tank and they were willing to sell. Ive had her for a while now.
I have a few other close nominees like a linespot wrasse, marine betta or my naked clown... but the leopard just edges them out.

I agree.
My female M. bipartitus came in a close second.

Beautiful leopard there ... I never understood people's obsession w leopards until I owned one. Now it had surpassed all my fish to be my favorite in my tank.

I loved my Valentini Puffer, small guy, huge personality - was waiting for my company every day. Also, the eyes are so funny. I gave him up since he killed the much bigger deco shrimps at night, should have given up the fire shrimps instead.

1. Longnose hawkfish. It's been with me for a year now; oldest fish I have and has survived 3 tank crashes (and 3 rounds in copper ) as well as 3 upgrades. Tons of personality, and gives me a "FEED ME" look anytime I'm close to the tank.

1B. My supermale Lineatus. Why? Because I got it for $35 as a "velvet wrasse" from the LFS. After I had him confirm the price multiple times, I informed him it was a lineatus wrasse. He still honored the agreed price, however vowed to be more informed of his fish, hahaha.

1C. Moorish Idol. Never understood the fascination with them until I owned my current one; now I am trying to ensure I do things right to keep him with me for a long time.

Boy, hard to say .....

Bipartitus Anthias is a favorite - this is my 'almost' male.

I also have a soft spot for my Dusky Wrasse that keeps the tank free of flatworms and pyramid snails .... also apparently eats elephants, because I haven't seen a single one since I got this wrasse.

Any steal like that should definitely be on your favs list!
As far as the Idol... theres something about them, i dont know.its by far my fav fish of all (even though I dont own one. Ill make sure when I upgrade to set up a tank tailor made for them as my centerpiece.

I use to have a melanerus wrasse, helicoris wrasses are great wrasses, you cant go wrong w them. Next time I try one itll be a dusky or an Xmas wrasse... or a melanerus again :p

Hands down, it's my Snooty Maori Wrasse Cheilenus oxycephalus. Eats everything in sight and is curious about freaking everything. Really awesome fish. Makes me want to try other smaller maori wrasses.
