Hi there

I bought 2 perculas almos 7 months ago from FLS there where really small. today they have increase the size but I want to know at what age or size they get the mature stage and start to host . One is concider more big than the other (female I guess)

Thanx a lot.

It's mixed but right around the one year mark they should be sexually mature. It is difficult to determine if they are full grown when you get them because if one or both had been a male for years then suddenly lost contact with the female. One would then become a she but who knows how long he was a he before becoming a she:D

Percula females grow to 2&1/2 inches , so depending what size yours are you can go from there .

I gat them really small I bouth tehm in the same place at the same time on Febrary this year. One was allways biger than the other. They measure the bigger like I will say 1" now is almost 1" 3/4 the other is still smoler but growing too. the healt is very colored. I try to feed them with diferent stuff not just flakes. Some silverside, some pods, flakes etc. I read before than JUST flakes is only PART of fish nutrition.

I feed my clowns at least 12 different foods to keep a well balanced diet and good nutrition .

If more people could see the color and health of Rod's fish (and not just his onyx), more people would be using Rods Food. Every pair of clowns that he has are spawning.

HAHA... if Rods food would encourage my fish to pair up, let alone spawn, I'd call it mirical food! I do love Rods food though & HIGHLY reccomend it!

As for the original posters question... Clowns dont mature before they host, juvinile clowns host. You clowns might just not want to host, it happens pretty often in tanks.
