When do you need to reinforce your floor?

I posted this before, but can't find it, so sorry for the repeat.

At what tank weight should floor reinforcment be considered? I've been thinking of upgrading for a while, and I'm sure after seeing Grant's tank again in a couple weeks, I'll have an even larger desire to do so :) I'm not going quite that big, maybe 60/65 plus a sump, but that's still quite a bit more than what I have now. Anyone have an opinion on this? What sizes/precautions have others taken?

Thanks for that Ben. Have a look at how your floor is constructed and give me a call. Look for joist spacing and size, direction joists run in relation to tank, parallel or perp, is it against a loadbearing wall, near a foundation wall, etc and yes you have to go under the house ;)

Hmm sounds like this is going to require work on my part :p

I'll try and get under there this weekend.

Looking forward to seeing your frag setup!

I was happy when contractors doing work under my house reported my tank was in a good spot, right over supported joists.

Ben, don't tell Grant, but his frag setup is sweet. I'm still waiting for him to fill it with water, but it's going to rock.
