when emporer angels attack!

lol, I wish I had a picture of this for you all. I have had Elvis the emporer angel in QT for the last 5 days. The QT is a big rubbermaid container and I have been vacuuming the QT out several times per day in order to keep it as clean as possible. Apparently Elvis does not appreciate my efforts to tidy up because he comes out and flares up his fins and just starts attacking the vac repeatedly. Today he hit it so hard I amost lost my grip on it. I'm kinda scared to put my hands in the tank with him now, lol.

lol i have never had an angel bite me.but imagine it wouldnt feel good,my little sebae clown bites my arm every time i put it in the tank.usually i jump back and curse the little #$%$%^$%^&#&#%^&^&#%^&#^&

it more startles me than anything.but he does have some teeth and you feel them.no blood or anything.

I ot one of those viscious little clowns too. He gets extremely irritated at me when I mess around the area where he calls home.
I wouldn't want to get bit by a large angel either. They got some serious toothage,,,LOL

I have 3 damsels that attack my arm everytime I reach in the tank!! it kinda reminds me of the movie pirhana when i have these 3 swirling around my arm or doing repeated hit and runs!

My Emperor is aggressive during feeding....everytime I stick my fingers in to feed I wonder if I will end up loosing a chunk here and there...

Herman, I would NOT like that!

Mike, he is doing really well, knock on wood. I freaked when the gramma started showing definate signs of ich and Elvis seemed a little "off" even though he wasn't symptomatic really. I went ahead and got him in a large rubbermaid medicated QT. He has more room and is back to his old self. This way I can also treat what I believe was/is the very beginnings of HLLE. I told Troy we have to have the 150 ready by the time he finishes QT or else he goes to your 390. I am leaving all inverts, rock, etc. fallow as needed just to be sure. From now on as I told you, all fish will go to QT first. It's just too hard to catch them in a big tank.

Duce, you are braver than I am. Now that he is like that, I get my hands out of the water when he gets too close.

What all will you need to turn on the 150?

+1 on that, when are ya getting that baby going, its been a long time since ya picked that up from us. Ill help ya if ya need some Laura

I know but you know how I get sidetracked. It seems like it's been one thing after another since I got that darn thing, lol. I kind of wish I had just bought a full setup in hindsight. I still have not bought a stand/canopy but I'm working on that right now. I wanted to get the new cars taken care of and some other priorities first and luckily they weren't as bad a hit as I expected. Hubby did not end up getting the Jeep he said he wanted. There is one very important thing I had forgotten about and I need advice on what to get. What type of return pump do I need? I'll be using the AGA overflows with the 45 as a sump (I think - the rubbermaid QT is turning out to be very convenient). I found the light fixture I want but have not actually purchased it yet so I'll need to do that but I'll probably do it as the very last thing.

I would go with a Reeflo snapper or dart, Im on my second snapper and only because I soldmy 1st one and I love it, its quiet and doesnt suck that much power up, its rated at 2400 GPH 0 Head, at least I think Im correct about that, the dart pushes more aqua. That is Sequencial brand by the way!!

Ohh and thats just MY opinion on that one!!! :D:D
Theres many other good ones but that my experiance with those

Is that the right size, I remember you saying snapper before but I have no idea how may gph I need or anything. On this I am lost. Also, I decided not to blow the load on the Tunzes especially after we talked it.

Yeah I have 2 like new Seios 1100 I MIGHT be selling and they will be good enough for ya.....Yeah get the Snapper, there like almost 200 bucks for one. the Dart might be too much for you, not sure but it pumps more volume, I have a Snapper on my 120 and its got a TON of flow that Im not even using any powerheads and for a month things are doing great so far!!

Pumps are one thing I really don't know anything about. I think gravity will feed the sump, the skimmer has a pump to run it, and that I'll need at least one pump to return skimmed water back up to the display. Do I need more than one and how do I know what size to buy? Also I read something about submersible and something else - no clue there. I'm so exhausted hopefully somebody understood that, lol.

LOL just do the snapper and thatll be the only pump you should need, you will be happy with that one. its plenty of flow for sump water in a 150. Its external tho but ill help ya with the plumbing if ya need it. Ohh and do all your overflow boxes as drians with that pump
