When is Brook Season Over?

Hater of Hair Algae
From what I understand this is the time of year when brook is most prevalent in clownfish. Anyone know what time of year it's not so prevalent?

If you are planning on wild caught, plan on dealing with Brook and Amyloo year round. Just the nature of the beasts and with more efficient world wide shipping every day, expect the bugs to be freshly introduced at the wholesale/distribution level.

QT and Hospital procedures need to be ready for wild caught clowns, before any purchases. And if you are buying captive bred clowns from a dealer that mixes them all in the same system, then the same risk applies.

Best wishes.

Thanks. I'm considering buying a pair and I always qt, what meds are most effective for brook and amyloo? I like to be prepared.

Thanks for the link, I've added it to my favs for quick reference. I'm drawn toward ocellaris, but I also like the black ocellaris and maroon. I know I can't have all of them due to fighting, so I'll probaly end up getting two small ocellaris to try and form a pair.

The maroon is the only clown that is out of the equation. Orange ocellaris and black ocellaris can be together with no problem.

You can mix the two different ocellaris without fighting? Would I need to get two anemones and place them at opposite ends of my 90g or one large one? I've heard and read so many conflicting issues on having more than two clowns.

Captive-bred specimens of each of the species you've mentioned are widely available. Brook and velvet are less of a worry for CB clowns (although QT is still a good idea).

Black and white ocellaris is the same species as the orange ones, just with different pigments. Just follow the normal rules for pairing clowns - choose one fish that's significantly bigger than the other and watch them closely.
