It's summer time so maybe an outdoor meeting at a park, a winery, lake sonoma or at the beach? I prefered that over Union hotel any day. Jofish is nice but we have been there quite a bit lately. I've also heard Ken's tank is coming together nicely so maybe he likes to host?
Chris and I went to Doran beach couple weeks ago, caught our limit on Dungenous crabs and had a feast
just throwing some ideas out there.
BTW, I have the club's band saw and I think the new prez/vice prez should decide on who storing it. I will bring it to the next meeting to hand it over.

Tell me soon so I can clear it with the wife since our newborn may dictate my WCR attendance (hopefully not).
We can host at my house (in a future meetup, not this time)... if WCR ever wanted to drive down to Walnut Creek. ^_^

Just thinking out loud. I'm just scared this wouldn't be an actual meeting if we did lake Sonoma, bodega bay or a winery. Meaning could we do a traditional raffle at a location such as those? I feel a lot of members enjoy our raffles and maybe would be let down if this were not to happen. All of those places sound great to me, I just want to make sure we have the same great turn out as usual (or even better LOL). Everyone please voice your thoughts since its literally 2-3 weeks away pending set date.

I think an off site retreat is a good idea. We can still do raffles as long as we have a holding container and/or heatpads for the corals.
We should not fear alternate venues and it will make it just as exciting of a club. Gives us a unique way of keeping existing members and getting new members.
We are probably the 'funnest' crowd lately of reefers in the area. (I feel)

I agree with doing any of those activities but it doesn't mean anything if you don't have a turnout LOL If it generates more individuals showing up I guess this would be the way to go :lmao: But like you said, we need to get a better feel with a show of hands of individuals that would participate.

Thanks Tom. Yes, the rumors are true, my tank is doing better. And there have been some new additions both coral and fish wise.
I would enjoy hosting a meeting when my new tank is up. With a meeting in June, the next one would be two months later in August. Let's pencil in my hosting that one.

Ken, When your tank is doing well, it also means life is going well. It's strange how well our tank is also reflect how good we feel about life in general. I am happy for you and your tank Ken .

Thanks for your happy thoughts Tom. I hadn't stopped to think about it, but you're right about tank condition reflecting personal head space.
As engrossing and satisfying as reefing can be, family and work are priorities. I had spent two years working for Satan's Sweatshop and my life was very out of balance. Restoring that balance has made me, my kids and my reef much happier.
