When one RBTA is not enough

What k is your 150s, and how far above the water.Reason for asking is I have3 rbtas in a 20L with 2 150 hqi 14ks 13'' above the water and they are loseing their color. They are fed 2x a week silversides and krill soaked in selcon.I also do 20% water changes ever week, skimmer 24/7 and run carbon 24/7.My xenia are growing like crazy.Just hopeing you might have a clue to what is going on with mine. btw your tank is really nice.I will shut up now Thanks david

I am running Phoenix 14ks. The lights are pretty close to the surface as it is a Current Orbit & it uses the "legs" on the tank. I use a Remora hang on skimmer which I do not find to be very good as it once was (I have had it almost ten years). I run 3 MJ 1200s with "flow-spinny-things". That's it.
SNAKEMANVET: You may lower your lights some(?) but I don't see why you would lose color? Are all three different color? I find to have alot of variation in mine. Some lok almost bleached (the ones lower & behind rocks) while others are really dark at the base. I would not worry if they are feeding. You may want to cut back to one feeding a week so that they expand more & use their algae for food & do a smaller water change to avoid shock.

Thanks MFR.The green ones have lost most of their color and the red ones have gotten to the point where the tentecles are almost gone.They did great for about 9 months before this started.I appreciate the advice and help.

No covers on the pumps. I have tried different things- everything has its limitation. They tend to stay away from intakes- though I have had some "blends" over the years.

I'm so green with envy right now. That is so amazing. Your very lucky. Forget those corals they killed! Well worth the sacrifice. :eek2:

I proably got my first RBTA about 8 years ago. As mentioned I have sold a few over the years . Over the last couple of years I have just let them multiply. I really do believe that the key is to have a balanced environment with proper feeding. I will post more pictures later of all the growth of other organisms in the tank.
