When to add clowns re: cycle and anemone

So, tank is finishing up cycling; gonna add my CuC, etc.

Short version, I plan on keeping clowns and a carpet. Ocellaris most likely. Would I be ok adding the pair of clowns as the first fish into the aquarium (sorry, std. 120 gal size), then adding the nem in 5-6 months?

Would the clowns be ok with that, and would I be ok with them being the first fish in the tank, that long before the nem? (side note: LFS said I'm ok adding a nem after 2-3 weeks if I have a stable tank, but that doesn't seem to be the advice I got on here, so I'm planning on waiting).

Thanks in advance!

you should always wait and only add things one at a time, carpets can be very tricky, when you do decide to add the carpet, you will most likey want to take the clowns out or away so the carpet can get acclimated without stress, clowns add stress if they go to a carpet, not all clowns get along with a carpet, i lost quite a few that way...

Gotcha, that was the kind of advice I was looking for. That won't be a problem; I'll add the clowns now, and then in 6 months or so when I find a nice carpet I like, I"ll move the clowns to my QT for a few weeks while the anemone is getting settled.

Thanks a ton!

I'm in Minneapolis, Minnesota. There's enough good LFS's, and BRS is here too, that I'm sure I could find somebody trustworthy nearby! Know any place in the midwest?
