When to intervene with a sick/stressed haddoni

I recently acquired a new haddoni from a LFS. The store claimed the anemone had been with them for a couple months and in another customer's tank before that. To be honest I knew the animal was not at 100% when I purchased it but I haven't seen one this color in quite some time so I decided to roll the dice.

Anyway, the anemone has been in my care for 3 days now and has deflated twice. The mouth remains agape. My question is basically two part, should action be taken now and if so what antibiotic treatment is recommended for this species?

Here is the animal in question

I have treated both a Haddoni and 2 gigs with Cipro, just as others are doing on this forum. Same course of treatment for each with 100 percent survival rate. Each was doing the classic inflate/deflate cycle and at times had the flattened pancake appearance.

I might give it a bit more of a chance to acclimate to your tank before I started treatment to determine if it is really sick or just settling in.

If he does not improve, I would treat him. The sooner the better. He does hav every nice color.

Ok thanks you guys I'm going to order some cipro off eBay tonight and continue to keep a close eye on him then.

I have a similar issue. Can you treat with cipro right in the main tank with other fish and critters or is that bad for the other animals?

You should treat separately in a dedicated 'hospital' tank. The sticky about cipro treatment illustrates the procedure very clearly. I would strongly warn you about administering antibiotic in your DT.

Would an anemone eat a tablet? I wonder if you could just feed it a quarter piece of cipro in the DT. Maybe wrapped with shrimp.
