When to panic???

Whenever I see a white tip on a coral, I assume the worst. Most of the time, it's just new growth but sometimes, it's RTN, STN, or light burn. Yesterday, I noticed white tips on a couple of nice growing colonies. As usual, I tested everything and looked for pests. As usual, nothing was amiss. A few hours later, the white started looking better and it was pretty clear that it was new growth. It still gave me the willies.

When do you guys/gals panic?

When the branches start to turn white. Rtn you can usually see the pieces flaking or peeling away. Some corals like montis will have white tips representing new growth. Pics would help

I panic every time I walk into the room with the fish tank. Not really, but I do go through a thorough review of the corals, fish, and check out the equipment for any goofy issues. I love the tank, but there are so many funny crazy things that can happen so unexpectedly
