I was just thinking and I have always wanted to do a shallow tank like a 1-1.5 feet tall.. I am starting to plan for my new tank I am doing in about 6 months.. I would like it to be between 50 and 90 gallons. is there any negatives to haveing a tank that is on the shallow side? Where can I find one?

probably need custom made. I think shallow would be awesome. I don't see any downsides. Try glsscages or ART i would guess.

I have an Oceanic 40 breeder and it can be RR by tomorrow monring. IMHO the more shallow the better. Come check out my tank if you like. good luck!

If it's temp and you don't need to see it through the side, the rubbermaid Ag Stock tanks are an option. 50 -300 gallon at Rural King

the only problem with tanks that shallow is that when small they tend to be too narrow front to back, like a 33L (my favority tank size) its 36x12x12

it woudl be cool to do a 24x24x12 or a 30x30x12 or something like that

it doesnt give you much height, but I love the short tanks

I used to rock a 40BR and I wouldnt consider it that short, its like 16 inches tall I think

The tank I almost got...125 Gal. Wide 72 x 24 x 17 from glasscages.

I know, the goal was a shallow spread oout reef but I opted for the standard AGA 125 instead. Complete with the wall of rock. lol

I still like the idea of the shallow spread out reef but it isn't going to happen for a while.

I've got a 40 breeder and I love it...the dimensions on that tank are great :) It might be cool to do like 14" tall and then 30" x 30" cube...don't know how many gallons that would be.

72"x18"x13" 75 gallon long glass cages.com that would be nice to have i have a 72" outer orbit 384 watts that i'm not using that would do good over that size and its shallow enough lights would work fine

I e-mailed them and they said they could do the size I want for $175 it was 48"x12"x24". how many gallons would this be like 75ish?
