Trying to find it to make Randy's 2-part. Anybody know where they've found this stuff in the Tampa area? I've tried calling a few pool supply stores in the area but no luck yet. Any help would be appreciated.

The pinch a penny by me has a calcium booster, but not specifically dowflake. I'm a little hesitant using anything else, because I don't know the inert ingredients in it. Did your pinch a penny have dowflake or something comparable to it?

I got a big 50lb bag from the Pinch a penny in brandon... says dowflake right on the bag and Ive been using it for a month.. call the brandon store. maybe the guy your talking to is a little confused. What I got IS Dowflake. there is a place in Tampa Chemstat.. they have it too

Ya, the guy I talked to wasn't all that helpful. I tried doing a search for Chemstat and couldn't find that company. I think I'll just make a trip to Brandon one day. Thanks for the help poknsnok

I got it in the Pinch a penny on 19, just south of tampa road. Robthorn knows where Chemstat is

Dowflake is calcium chloride. That in solution is part one of two part. Part two in sodium carbonate (baked sodium bicarbonate/baking soda).

I got mine at the Pinch a Penny in Lakeland. The bags were kept on a pallet in the back room. I think they sell them to pool professionals or use it to fill up those little tubs of "calcium booster".

I did a rough calculaion and figured my homemade 2-part costs less than 50 cents per 2-gallon set. Of course, I spend all the savings on new corals.

I agree on spending the savings:D!
I bought a 50lbs bag and I have yet to put a dent in it three months later and I go through 1 gal each once a month!

Just got some yesterday from there. Thanks

I have a friend that works at Pinch a Penny and she said that they sell the 50 lb bags which is "Dowflake". The smaller bags are of a different brand and she wasn't sure if they were different. Some stores sell different products because they are individually owned. Just some information on the subject.
