Where can you buy mini brittle stars?

Plan on getting corals? Just about every frag I've bought has had mini brittles on it..

I have never purchased one and have them everywhere. They will arrive on their own just fine.

very valid question. i started a tank with dry rock and dry sand. and tossed in a small piece of rubble rock to start the process. over a year later. i have not one mini star or bristle worm

Just buy a frag from an established LFS.

I purchased some Toadstool algae for my fuge from KP Aquatics out of FL. It usually has some mini brittles as hitch hikers.

My tank is full of corals, and I have never seen a brittle star came as hitchhiker. I'd like to get some myself. My friends has plenty in his tank, but I am hesitant.

Is a coral dip not going to decimate any hope of finding these useful hitchhikers showing up in our tanks? Asking because I truly don't know the answer to that question and I would love to have some MBS in my tank once it's up and running - but planning on dipping and proper diligence for everything entering my tank.

Thanks for the links! Definitely plan to get corals but not for a while and not yet sure how strict a process we will follow re: QT, removing frag plug, etc

There is a guy selling them in the classified, $25 per dozen. Might be out but said he will have more in a few weeks. If you lived close to me I'd give you some. There are piles of them under every rock. Although there seems to be less lately, wondering if it's the Melanurus wrasse I added a month ago.

Yep, got brittles coming out of my ....... well, you get the idea. Find a local reef club and ask. I'm sure somebody's got some to spare.

Just get a piece of liverock from someone from your local reef club. As long as it doesn't have any aiptasia etc on it.
