Where did he go?

I added a firefish yesterday and he bolted into the sand under the rockwork. He came out a few times to investigate his new home, but I have seen him since 7p.m. last night.

Is this normal for firefish to hide all day?

I thought they hovered in the current out in the open.

Any have this fish or know its behavior?

I had one for a long time before he went carpet surfing. He would dissappear for days at a time then show up and eat. one time he was gone for over a week. I figured he had a girlfriend somewhere. Then i came home one day and he was all dried up. She must have broked his heart and he couldn't live with the pain any longer.

In short, yes it is normal.

Mine has gone a few days without coming before.

He now comes out for only 60% of the day or so, and spends rest of time under rocks...
