To have a club community. The selling restriction is probably precisely so that it's a club forum first, rather than unknown people spam posting sale links. Not saying that this is what you were doing, but that's what the policy is probably there to prevent.

I can tell you it is not to have an alternative to craigs list. If you are happier at SWF by all means go post/sell over there.
