Where do you get your water from?

I have been getting my water from Water to Go in Folsom, but unfortunatly the owner has passed away and I don't think it will remain open, so I need to find another source.

I work in Folsom and live in the Arden area so I am looking for another place that has good consistent water that is RO/DI. Prefferably a store that specializes in it rather than a supermarket dispenser because the maintence on them is non existent.

I live in an apartment so RO/DI filter is out of the question at this point.

I have found local Sac water makes my skimmer crazy and can't be used if any of that is added, even the stuff from O st.

So does anybody know of another store that is affordable (.28 per gallon at water to go) and has good quality?- Thanks Doug

Where do you work in Folsom I work in Folsom as well? I have an RO/DI system, and I would be happy share. I am on the end of recovery for back surgery and my expected back to work date is the 21st.

why cant you get a RO/DI unit for your apartment? I will be getting one later this year and I live in an apartment.

I've been getting mine from work, but I'm getting tired of lugging 5gal jugs from the parking lot, and upstairs to my apt. Are you sure a RO/DI is out, I've been thinking about getting one and just putting it under my sink and only hooking it up when I need water...

You can have a faucet adapter so you can still use your sink and just switch on the ro/di when needed.

I hadn't looked into it, but tradionally I thought it was a long process through the membranes that took time to collect and was deposited in a trashcan. Because of the slow process and the need to collect in the trash can required a garage set up.

If not, someone please educate me, because lugging water does suck, but tap water does even more!! Like I said already Sac water foams on me bad

Thank you for the offer, very kind....

I was just going to have it run into one of those 5gal Alhambra watter bottles. I do know that unless you have a pressurized system like they have here at work the flow comeing out of them is pretty slow. I figure it will probably take at least an hour or two to get the 5 gal. I guess if I wanted to get fancy I could even put a float valve in the collection container so that it auto shuts off. I know one reason I haven't done it yet other than the $$$ is that I know I'll start filling a container and forget about it at some point, which I'm sure will **** off my downstairs neihbor when his ceiling starting drippin...lol....

I keep 30g on hand, so I could spare 5-10g from time to time. My unit does about 100g per 24 hr day, so that is about 4g per hour. Seems slow but it is set up in my garage, and I have forgotten it is running more than once (mop time).

I have a typhoon III great price well worth it over the long run then buying water all the time... I have it hooked up with a faucet adapter and just hook it up when needed usually takes most the day if not two days to fill up some gallon jugs and about a 20 gallons for a water change on my 50 holding tank soon to be qt tank. Then i store it away until about two-three weeks and do it again. I just let the drain line go down the sink. I have a five gallon bucket underneath incase for slow leaks...

Thanks for the input guys, I found a place on Fruitridge that is selfserve, and a quarter a gallon. I looked in the back and they have a newer RO/DI industrial type unit and seems to be on the up and up.

I have tested alk only so far and will test phosphates, but the alk showed zero dissolved solids, so I am confident that it is cool. I think until I graduate in May and get into a house I will be lugging the jugs. I just want one source that I can count on....you know consistency in the tank and all.

Thanks again....Doug
