Please let me know where to get that Handi-foam.
I have found Dr. Foster&Smith (they don´t ship to Hawaii) and AquaticEcoSystems (too expensive to ship!!).
Please help. My new tank is waiting just for that.

Nope, not here!
No Home Depot, no Lowes, no pond places have it. They´ve got other brands, but not for ponds.
I was thinking to order on line ...

Is there any other non-toxic brand safe for the saltwater system?

Please keep trying to help me.
Thanks a lot

I would think other brands of foam would be just fine. If its made to go in a koi pond, its going to be safe for the fish. I know there are at least a couple other brands out there people have used. Hopefully some of them will chime in here.

I believe Great-Stuff foam by Dow is one of them, but it does not come in black if i recall.

Hello:

Hey Fiziksgeek... We do have the Great-Stuff foam by Dow here at Home Depot. I didn´t know we can use that in the aquarium... I thought it was toxic for the fish.

Can anyone here let me know if they used before in a fish tank?
thanks a lot for the help.

Any other tips by users?

Any additional links regarding the use of the foams in aquariums?

Thanks!

i too would like to know if great stuff is safe because i am making a rock wall with cable ties and egg crate and would love to use GS seeing that i already have it and its cheaper...i know when i had poison dart frogs i used it in there set up to create a waterfall...but dont know if saltwater is different

I´ve used the Rockin Foam and loved it! I´m so happy with the results. It really looks like rock. I believe it´s just like the other types of pond foam. Now I need to find time to start the system!
Thanks a lot for the help guys!

Any other tips or sites with foam work in aquariums please post.

Aloha,

Well... today I found only about 25% of the foam still on the glass. The tank is still empty. The foam shrinked around the edges and came off the glass.
Anyone knows?
What did I do wrong?

Is it the first time that this kind of thing happens?
Anyone?
I took the foam out of the tank.
Maybe it´s the brand / type of foam?

Well, I have to believe that´s the first time anyone hear about the foam getting off the glass by itself. The size now is about 70 to 75% :eek2: of the initial area covered. I think the thing is still shrinking...

I promess to you guys that I didn´t put it in the dryer! :rolleye1:

Could it be the brand that I´ve used?

It´s just too bad I can´t find the Handi-foam around here!
Well, I´ve got another idea and will try a thin concrete wall to cover the back. More work...

Hope this thread helps others when they choose the foam.
