Where is everyone?

I am about to start up a 40g setup and figured I would be entertained with some wcr back reading since I haven't been around for a while. However, no one is active around here anymore. What's the deal?

Also any word on the shop that was said to be possibly opening up locally?

Hey Steve.

Some of us are here still lurking. In a nutshell the club's current board of directors is done and no one was willing to pick up the reins. I'd do it but I've already been president.

It's sad and I miss the reefers, meetings, and raffles. We just need a couple people to step up.

That's a major bummer. On top of that the LFS's here have gone to complete trash. Really wish I didn't need to travel hours, or order livestock online.

Glad they are doing well. How's the tank in general?

Finally recovering from a near major crash. I had a 2nd generation mp40 that developed a cracked magnet and was dumping **** in the water. It took me almost 6 months to figure out what was happening. It's amazing that anything survived. It smelled like a rusty boat oil pan when I pulled it out. After 5-6 20% water changes things have come around.

Nah. The thing was bought in 2009. I should've checked it more often.

I replaced that and my maxspect gyre with 2 mp40wQD. They're amazing.

So what your saying is that you have a gyre and mp40 that needs work for sale for cheap?

I tossed the mp40, but yeah I do have a gyre sitting around, along with spares of about everything else too, calrx, peristaltic feed pump, skimmer, etc....

I was wondering what happened with the club also, I check on here almost everyday and it just seemed very odd that there were no new posts or comments or things like that. I don't think it should matter if you were a past president or not as long as you are willing to keep the club going. My plate is very full but I'm willing to get on the board as long as WCR survives.

I feel people drop by this group but that's all it is. I still remain strong in reefing but more with the 916 club, and as usual one of the common members at all the swaps NVR, BAR, MARS, 916 etc.... Here's a pic of 3 of us WCR members at the latest BAR swap that happened last week. Usually Carlos is also with us.

I'm glad there is still a core group of guys around here, but it sure would be nice to have a more constant and active presence here. I think a quality LFS would be a huge step in that direction.

Ive offered in the past to step up im happy to help the club. We should set up a frag swap and pot luck.

So i have been thinking long and hard how to get this club going again. And i think a simple meeting is in order. I dont mind stepping back in as president for another term as long as i can get some help. I am in the middle of a tank rebuild right now on the 30 gallon since i have to push back the 125 setup for a little while. The 30 should be set back up friday night once that happends i dont mind holding the meeting at my place. If we want to do a raffle thats fine as well. BOB ill give you a call within the next week about funds maybe we could do a small coral buy from your reef and ill make the drive up there and pick some stuff out
