Where place gigantea?

Hi, I am getting a new gigantea and my doubt is about to place it on the sand or just on the rocks.

Put him some spot where the rocks meet the sand, and then he'll let you know where he's going to go.

I bought a gig a few weeks ago and placed him on the substrate up against a crevice in the rocks. It has only moved about 1" up the rocks so it could wedge its foot between the crevice.

OK, I think they need some space to place the foot. They are not like magnificas, wich you can place on a flat rock.
