I just order the Helfrich's Firefish but I have no idea where should I put the fish in?
I have 12g nano cube and 40g tank.
12g nano is a reef tank and have purple firefish and red firefish.
40g tank is I guess call fish only tank coz no coral(have live rock and algie). The fish I have in there are chocolate tank, bule tank, pygmy angle, red scooter benny and dragon goby.
Any one please tell me which tank I should put the Helfrich's Firefish in.
Thank you

and there are no return on the fish since I got it so cheap(much cheaper than the regular market price that sell for $150+), the fish will be here on wednesday so I need answer asap please.

when you say tank you mean tang??? tough call considering your overstocked in your 40 gallon tank. I'd still probably put it in the 40 gallon, but I'd definately upgrade to at least a 125 gallon before the end of the year for your tangs to be happy and healthy and for your bioload to not be crazy.

wow, I would remove the tangs from your tank and give them to a bigger and better home. Tangs need a TON of swimming room, and a 40gallong just isn't suitable for that. Not to mention the bioload that they make!

I hate to jump the gun here but I smell TROLL, and he's trying to get everyone fired up. Also if this isn't a troll, you have way to many fish in that 40gal tank.........

also what's going on here do you have a 40 or 30 gallon make up your mind.

"Current Tanks: 12g nano and 30 g tank"

All,

Nobody bothered to ask what size the fish are, nor what the configuration of the tank is - The 40gal isn't overcrowded if those fish are small and the tank is 48" x 16" x 12". A little hepatus and pyroferus would be fine in there for quite some time. If the tangs are some other species, then that would change things.
Also, you need to know what a "dragon goby" is before recommending a Helfrich's for that tank, they are very timid. Same goes for the pygmy angel, if its a Centropyge argi, they can be real tough customers.
Just based on the size and the potential for fighting, I think adding the Helfrich's to the 12 gal nano is a bad idea....but then I wouldn't have tried two firefish in that tank to begin with<grin>.

p.s. - Gunnwong, on your signature line you say you have a 30gal, not a 40gal. - which is correct?

move the red and purple firefish to the 40g (30g?) and then put the helfrich's in the 12g.

and find a new home for the tangs. :D

next time make sure you can care for an animal (and the ones you currently have) before buying it "just because it was cheap".

Very irresponsible IMO.

C'mon folks! Let's keep it helpful. Comments that denegrate the person asking a question REALLY discourage them from asking more questions and learning about the hobby: which is the entire point of this forum!

thank you whyknow
I'm really new to the hobby. The fish in the 40g tank are all small (all less than 2 in. long). And yes they will be move to bigger tank. I just order custom made 125g tank for my new home. They will be ready in about 3 month, so I don't think I'm over stock the fish right now in 40g tank.
And for the 12g nano, I already have 2 firefish in there and they doing find for the last 2-3 month. So should I try put in the nano cube first and see if it fight, if so then I will move to 40g tank?
thank you

in case you missed it the first time...

move the red and purple firefish to the 40g (30g?) and then put the helfrich's in the 12g.

thank you benny Z
Thant what I thought too. and is it possible if I juat connect other 20g tank to the 40g that I already have, just to increase the water volum?

water volume is not a problem, a 12 gal nano cube may be too small for all three fire fish.....but since those two are used to each other i would move them to the 40 gal, and put the new fire fish in the 12 gal.
