where to get a green gig?

i have been looking for a green gig over 2 years now.
LFSs dont have any luck nor petco... where did your LFS order those gig from?

Try a waiting list on an online website like saltwaterfish.com or liveaquaria.com. Where are you located? Being in FL, the lfs can usually order in whatever. And following up on D-Nak's post, many will ship.

With green gigs in particular, it's best to find a vendor that can provide WYSIWYG photos. There have been issues with people buying "green" gigs only to receive a tan one with a slight green tint.

The track record with larger vendors like Live Aquaria -- Divers Den in particular -- is dismal. They treat their nems with Cipro (I was on a live FB stream and posed the question to Kevin Kohen, who kindly responded) but this can be detrimental because if the nem relapses during shipment, it typically doesn't respond well to Cipro treatment the second time around.

I was not aware, thanks for the headsup. Well I would try leaning on a store that can provide pics that you are comfortable with, and who obviously ships.

Ibluewater has carpets on their website, but I haven’t ordered from them yet.

I tried before but backed out. Bob is a nice guy and is very knowledgeable, but is full of promises and rarely delivers. Most seem to think he takes your money THEN looks for the nem you asked him for. He says he QTs and treats prior to shipping but this is questionable as well. All of this comes at a STEEP price too.

My memory is terrible. I did buy one from Bob and it got shipped to the wrong state and came a day later. He walked my wife through acclimating it when I was at work but it died a few days later. I thought he was very nice as well and don't think I tried another one from him. I'd like to find one again for my newly redone 470.

Minnesota, just as far from the east and west coasts as it can be. lol
yeah i want wysiwyg.
i will try aquatic collection and yourfishstore.

Has anyone tried this place? States has free shipping.

That place looks shady as hell. "White Carpet", "red Gig" and the "carnation"(thinking it's a malu) is dyed.

I ordered a blue gig from Ibluewater years ago. After a few months and numerous excuses he shipped me a tan and bleached green with the promise of a blue when he got one. Still waiting. I've heard good things about his fish but I'd never order another nem from him.

folks please do your diligence research for the particular vendor b4 you spend the money or you will be frustrated and loose money in the process......

if it looks shady, close their broswer and dont even waste your time :) thats been my experience :)

finally, i got lucky, my local came through.
it's bleached, but nothing i cant work with.

Did you just place it in the tank in that last pic? Just wondering since the foot isn't attached. I've found that if they don't attatch well immediately it's trouble.

the last pic is when i just placed it in its new home in my frag tank. i want it to face up the right way before i put it in my display tank. now it's attached to the "cup". when no water flow the tentacles move on its own.
