I am looking for some borbonious anthias, i believe they are seasonal and am thinking of getting 6. I know they are expensive fish. I have had them before but sold them. Does anyone know where i can get more of them? Thanks in advance.

You are indeed correct that they are seasonal. You just have to be on the lookout for them. Pacific island aquatics, Divers den/liva aquaria, NY aquatics will be your best bets I think.

As mentioned, they tend to be seasonal, and are typically available in the late winter/spring. IIRC, We picked up our trio from the wholesaler in January a couple of years ago, and they're still doing super well.

Thank you for the replys. I am going to the wholesalers in december so hopefully i will see some. I would like some small ones. In your guys expierience, would you say that they are fast growers?

IME, they aren't super fast growers, but they do grow fairly steadily. Ours are beasts and will actually pick food off of the feeding stick that's intended for their lionfish/scorpionfish tankmates.

In addition to the fish being seasonal...since they come from Japan, I wonder if the big storm they had in the spring affected collection.

I never understood what's so special about freshwater lookin fish I know about 3 people on the east coast lookin for them 1 of my friends and vendor says he ordered them but the 2 divers that went out to get them died if he gets them I'm sure he will get in abunch as people around here want pairs and trios I might get a pair to see what all the fuss is about if he gets more ill let you know

And I will never understand the urge to make this sort of passive aggressive comment in a thread. Or the allergy to punctuation. To each his own.
