I was wondering on where i can pick up a small amount locally. Does anyone keep it in theyre main tank, and not in a fuge? i want to promote pod population along with rubble piles. I havent seen it at any of the stores, but maybe you have to ask for it.

thanks,

Jeff

damn, I think all us have some to spare at any given time..........

I seriously can't believe people buy this stuff.

same with xenia.

Kpcollins31 I left you 2 Qt's of chaeto-3 diff strains. Flour green, vine and leaf vine.

I have alot of chaeto. I run my Fuge lights 24/7 I've been trying to build up a good supply. I have enough to prolly fill a 5 gallon bucket half way left. I'll give it another month and have more to give out.

Tank is looking much clearer today and all the inhabitants are looking happy! ;) lol From what i could see through the glass door.

yeah, if anyone can spare it, that would be great. Would it be alright to keep it in my main tank? i do not have a sump or fuge, but heard of people that keep it in the main.

Ken, Dave, or lakeside, if you can spare some please PM me, I work in Albany and live in Clifton Park so picking it up shouldnt be a problem, i can come to your place or meet you somewhere.

Thanks,

Jeff

I have tried keeping it in the display tank before and it was a huge headache. Would get sucked into powerheads and blow around the tank. Does best in an area without massive flow. I even tried it under LR and it still spread everywhere and blew around. It will irritate corals as well and keep polyps from openning if rubbed on by chaeto.

Best kept in a Fuge or sump;)

I was thinking of keeping it behind the Liverock in a box made out of eggcrate, i know its not the best idea, but im thinking/planning on upgrading within the next couple months, and dont want to waste money on a HOB fuge, or building a sump/fuge.

In a eggcrate box it probably wouldnt be a problem.

thats what ill do then, probably a lot easier to control it this way, and easier to trim.

Instead of an eggcrate I would use that mesh stuff that oranges come in. It Seems to work very well as long as you don't pack it to tight.
