Where to get peppermint shrimp?

Evyllchyld

Trying again
I'm having a slight problem with Aiptasia since I bought a coral and am in need of some peppermint shrimp to munch on these things lol. Anyone know where I can buy them??? Matt at eddies said that they are out of season so they won't be getting them in for a while. I'm pretty sure someplace around here has them. Does anyone know what LFS??

Thanks
- Brian

I was at Eddies today and they had several. They were selling them 2 for $15 or 7.99 each! They were semi small.

GRRR!!! OMG! I was at eddies but didn't think to look *kicking myself* hahaha Looks like I know where I'm going. This was last week when I asked.

Bought a rock at eddie's and now I too need some shrimp. Only found one aptasia so far though. But want to get rid of it because it is in my seahorse tank.

If we end up doing the group buy for snails, the price for peppermints is $4 each. Not sure of the fate of that buy though.

I would have to say its called off.. Summer schedules for everyone are obviously to crazy. We plan on contacting Tony and ordering our's. Tony should honor the prices as Joe had said. Esp if large enough of an order.

This weekend would have been the best time for us. Now it will have to be pushed back several weeks :(

I really want some, but my order is not going to be large. only want about 20- 30 snails (two different kinds) some blue hermits and 2-4 peppermints. Hoping I can in on those prices.

I don't like taking busines away from tony but Saltwaterfish.com sells them 5 for 14.99. I got mine through there 6 months ago and they always ship extras in case of death. Can't really beat it. If any1 does a live order let me know i will split shipping... winstew@hotmail.com

Robin your so close to us we can work something out;) I can pick up ours and yours. You live 10 mins from us!.. No problem

5 for $15 a good deal, but doesn't include shipping. If that's all you're ordering, then that's not the route to take. If you order more or split the shipping with others, that might make it worth it.

Thanks for telling me lakeside, I just went to pick me up 2. My aipstasia all started with one, 2 days later there were 10 big ones.... These peppermints better be worth it cause I'm not particularly fond of there looks lol. And in my tank you either have a job and work off your debt or look pretty.

I'd suggest getting them quick because my aiptasia problem came about quick! And if you have a large tank your peppermints may not be able to find all of them. If they don't do the job i'm going to try a syringe and hot water and injecting each one... thank god I only have a 12g! :D I think this is the only time i've been happy I had a small tank.

We have 1 aiptasia in our 12 gal and many in the 75 gal. I have thought about Nuking them with a strong paste of kalk but i have held off. I haven't had alot of luck with the "Stop Aiptasia" It seems to kill the smaller ones but not the larger ones. That and i can't get to them all, so they spread back to the areas i killed them in.

I've posted many times, here, on this topic so the others are probably tired of hearing me say it but...

I had a healthy torch coral in my tank when I decided to try peppermint shrimp. The coral died in a manner that suggested it was eaten. I have not lost any Euphyllia corals to mysterious circumstances since I removed the peppermint shrimp.

Just an observation.
