If anyone is interested in a group buy i will be placing an order this week from someplace. lol

I rescently picked up a green mandarin and want to boost my pod population before he wipes them out. Any tips on keep this fish longterm are appreciated. One of may Favs and I'll will put in whatever effort needed to keep healthy.

Doesnt reef nutrition sell the live pods Kris ??

wasnt one of those bottles of things at the last raffle live stuff ??

I may be interested in a bottle, let me know what place you decide to buy from

:p

(seems like you caught the addicated bug lately yourself, I know I got it :D )

Yeah i hear that. I've been bad lately. lol Although i just passed on a new black Waveysea for $235 shipped:( I so want it. But X-mas is around the corner.

I may just order from Premium Aquatics if they have them in stock.

Reef nutrition sounds familar. I know Michaelg knows of some places but he's away. Maybe someone else can chime in with some links.

I may just order from them. I looked over their site real quick. Whats involved in ordering from them? Do i need to find a local vendor? Or do i order direct from them? Not your typical shop and checkout on that site..

I'll post a thread if anyone wants in? Can get 4- 6 oz bottle for $60

Not sure what shipping is?

Whats the simplest way to order from them? Everything seems to lead in circles

I'm pretty sure I've seen a few different pods available over at Swamp Bottom. Might want to give Tony a call and see if he has anything.

Had gotten a pack of pods at Tony's when we 1st got the horses (felt bad, it was his last 1 at the time and he was going to use it). Reef nutrition also as has been stated

Besides Reef Nutrition for Tigger Pods, here's another good source for pods. Our club has done group buys through both and received discount pricing FYI.

I ordered 4- 6oz bottles of Tigger pods today. I'' do as they say, open the cap and oxygenate them, float them in my sump till temp match and dump 3 bottles in my display and one in my fuge.

That should be over 2000 Tigger pods. That should get the population started. lol

One of those bottles from the raffle looked to have over 2,000 tigger pods alone! I wouldnt possibly over populate the tank with 4 bottles. I dunno but that seems like a bit much to me. Your supposed to put enough in to start the population and let them reproduce on there own to match your tanks capacity. By adding 4 bottles you may overpopulate the tank which could cause some die off of the pods I would think. I added one bag of pods bought from Tony 2 weeks ago(half into the display, half into the fuge). This week already I had a huge explosion of copepod population. I know pods are good, but I really think with a number that high right off the bat your asking for some die-off. Ever hear the expression.. "Too much of a good thing is never good." I think that may apply here also. I'm far from a expert but it makes sense to me.
On the other hand since they have a shelf life, if you do decide 4 bottles is too much, I would buy a bottle or partial bottle off ya. :D Tigger pods are about the only thing I dont have swimming around my fuge. I have tons of ampi/cope pods & micro stars and a few mysis swimming here and there. At the end of my old 39g tank, I had a explosion of tigger pods that I dunno where they even came in from! I do not see any of the tigger pod swarms anywhere in the new tank yet though

Anyone care to elaborate on what exactly a "Tigger Pod" is? How do they differ from standard amphipods or copepods?

Tigger pods are not Cyclop-eeze. The Cyclop-eeze organisms are found in a remote arctic lake out in the middle of no where. Tigger pods can be found from California up to Alaska.
