Where to order berghia

has anyone ordered berghia slugs from online vendors, and if so, who has had the best shipping/ survival rate? I know reeftown and saltyunderground are popular sites. Thoughts?

I ordered some from reeftown quite a while back. The ones I received were all alive and intact, although they didn't really do anything for my aiptasia. I ended up getting a filefish.

Thanks for the response man. Would love to utilize a file (or even a butterfly) but the system is far too small to house either.

You might have better luck with them than I did if they are going in a smaller tank. Until I saw them in person, I didn't realize how tiny and delicate they really are. After I carefully let them crawl out from the container into one of my rocks, they were never to be seen again and my aiptasia just continued to grow.

I ordered from Reeftown about a year ago for a 28 gallon nano cube. I ordered 4 medium size and they also gave me a string of egg sacks. Upon their introduction I watched one move out of the container I placed on the rock near but not on an Aptasia and started to munch away. I had roughly 50 Aptasia which took about 4 weeks till I started seeing the Berghia on the glass walls. I was able to collect 6 which I gave to someone in need who wound up passing his along to someone. I highly recommend these to anybody as long as they read up on them first. I still get thanked for passing them along.

I received a few from a local hobbyist and they did well for a bit. Unfortunately most of them had damaged cerata and didn't make it. I have one large fella/gal that is in need of some friends to mate with. Trying to get a breeding colony going in a separate culture tank. Suffice to say, this one individual is clearing out one large aiptasia a day.

The systems I really need them in are at max 16 gallons. I have used calcium hydroxide paste and the majaro wand in the past to nuke out all the individuals on the sides and live rock, but the aiptasia are also on some branching colonies. Don't want to hit those with kalk paste.

I also feed plenty of livefoods due to these systems being NPS displays, so the aiptasia are everywhere. I guess that's the price I pay though for not quarantining my live rock :(
