Where to place skimmer in sump

Hello, I just purchased a used 125 gallons long canopy that I will be using as a reef aquarium with fish. I also brought a 3 compartment Tsunami sump, that has a dual sock filter for which I never had a sump before. The whole saltwater thing is somewhat new to me. My question is, where do I place the skimmer in the sump? Will it be placed in the middle of the sump or the end of the sump.

Usually it is placed in the first section if there is room for it. You do not want it in the last section where the return pump sits, the water level will fluctuate there which will cause the skimmer to be difficult to adjust.

Make sure you check the skimmer instructions for recommended water depth of it also.

I have mine, eg, sitting on eggcrate just above the bottom of my middle chamber (I have 4) to get the right water depth.

First or second chamber is fine.
