Where To Put My Tube Worm

I just got my tube worm from liveaquaria.com, and I wasn't really sure where to put it so I just layed it one a piece of LR. Do I need to glue it or will it attach at all?

tube worm... IE feather duster?,,, can be put in most places ,don't pinch or crush them, keep out of fast flow. i just tuck them inbetween live rock openings

k, thanks for the advice. The spot i chose has med-low flow. i was very careful not to crush it...the tube was already damaged when i got it. the end seems to be withering away and there is a slit along the side with some green bubbles. I have no idea what they are but it seems to be very happy and opened after only a few minutes in my tank

As I hear, they need to have one end in the substrate so that they can derive material to build with---I'm not sure of this, but they've never bailed after being so positioned in my last tank.

that seems right. i have seen some others placed like that, but i wasnt sure if they were glued to the LR ther were next to. It moved in the night, so I will try putting the bottom in the sand bed when I relocate it. Also, I got about a 1/2" piece of ricordea and I wasn't sure how to secure it. I didn't have any netting handy, so I used some floss and tied it to a rock very loosely. it seems to have wandered off as well. anyone know how i can secure such a small piece better w/o hurting it?

Bridal veil, loosely rubberbanded about the intended rock: the polyp will orient itself---you don't have to do anything but keep it corraled.

Feed phyto: both your duster and mushroom will be happy with that, and it may help them settle.

I know. I already dose phyto for my green sinularia, zoo, and xenia, so the new mushroom, ricordia, and tube worm are already getting it.
