Whew!!!

After Auburns game yesterday I think it was a collective whew. I like to come out with one in the "W" column but man those kind have you nail biting big time.

Average running game, average (??) quarterback, below average, inexpierienced O-line.

I am afraid you might grind the fingers to a nub before the season ends.

If it wasnt for K-state's not adjusting to that long haired lineman getting beat by Groves on the outside, the flags would be at half-staff today on the plains

Where exactly are all those BIG recruiting classes anyway ?

Judging by those comments I would figure your not a huge tiger fan. ;)

I wouldn't call our running game average, in that game with 4 new starting offensive lineman and one being a true freshman then maybe they looked average. Also there is fresh talent that you didn't see running in the game but you will soon enough, and look out from another speedster that can find gaps when they look closed. Gran is not known for an average running game and I don't think any coach in the nation would tell you any different.
Second you called cox average, he was ranked by the tennesean as the third best QB in the SEC. Thats not average and he ranks that while playing with injuries, definately not average. He is slow admitted but rarely does he make stupid decisions and usually he is very calm and doesn't look to be rattled, even when down and taking a beating and playing through injuries he was poised and drove the team home to win. Not average , not the best either, but will get better when the line does.
Below average O-line? I don't think so, there are 4 count them four new starters on the O-line and 1 of those is a true freshman. The defense that was thrown at them in that game would have gave an experience line fits they stunted alot they changed formations alot, and they were more experienced. And to be totally honest they had more drive. Our line is going to be a week spot for the first half of the season but after that I think they will show to be a strength. You have to remember they didn't start with a powder puff below average AA team they played against a BCS type team with experience.
Like I said whew, but chalk that one up as a win just like any other. Not the way I like to see a win but it was against a worthy oppenent that will keep us in the polls and will probably move us up a notch or two. I think K-state will see 9 wins and win out its division this year, so that only helps us.
Now we could have started with a Western Carolina and run up the scores but remember we tried that a few years back and look where it landed us. We have to play these kind of opponents if we ever wish to compete for a national title.
I think we will see a much better looking team this week. South florida is known for upsets but they didn't show alot this week so who knows.

I'm glad that Auburn won, but I was really upset about their overall game. I believe that game should have been a blow out for them. That night was a good night, but a bad one too. The bad thing about that day was that I had to be at Aquarium Designs all day and couldn't watch all of the games I wanted to watch. The good (but bad at the same time) thing was that I got the computer near by to check on the scores while helping customers. I play the sportsbook a little and I had a 8 game parlay and they all went through except Auburn (they didn't cover the spread). But I'm over it and I hope that they have a great season. WAR EAGLE!

Wicked,
Immediately after the game I felt the same way, but after looking back at it later gotta love TIVO, I see what the O-line was dealing with. Also they said Fannin was not ready to read the blitz (for that matter neither was the others LOL) so they held him out. But, we have been assured we will see him on the field next saturday building confidence and learning the reads, and I am really looking forward to that. Folks close to the program said he might be the best we have seen at Auburn, I guess only time will tell. I think if you were able to go back and watch that crazy defense they were throwing at us you might feel a little better about our season. They loaded the line and sent everyone in almost 80% of the game, then they stunted all over the place. One thing that bothered me was why we waited so late to change it up, and start the quickouts to stop the onslaught of the defense up the middle. But chin up and sorry they costed ya. War Eagle!

Below average O-line? I don't think so,

I actually have known a couple current players since they were younguns. Take in a game or two a year also, but originally not from bama but live less than an hour away. Dont really love em or hate em. but will agree they are a quality run program

I go to their practices a few times a year, been there this year and I can assure you there is no fresh talent that can offset the lack of expierience at O-line.

Cox being ranked ranked THIRD best in the SEC at Quarterback isnt much to hang your hat on either. This conference isnt exactly loaded with Qback talent ready for the next level.

But what really is important is that FOOTBALL IS BACK !!

and that the Montgomery Biscuits made the playoffs

Yep its back, Michigan is hoping that everyone is just dreaming and will wake up monday, and that football really starts next Saturday. What happened in that game WOW!!!!

Better watch it...Tennessee Tech looks tough this season. They took a hard loss from powerhouse Eastern Illinois but really manhandled the mighty Bulldogs of Cumberland University.

Your Tigers are going to have to step it up several notches to have the type of season you're hoping for I'm afraid. They should have dominated their opener.
