Which are the most sought out pairs of clownfish ?

Good - let them buy them up and hopefully bring that price down a little! lol Since we're still not very far out of the starting gate for all these color morphs it's kind of amazing how much clowns are going for. I mean, I get that it takes some serious effort to cross breed until you get the color morph you desire but I long for the day when these are all common place. I'd love a pair of snowflakes but the $200 price tag at my LFS is just too cringe-worthy for me to pull the trigger.

And I'd also like to see someone tackle the size of carpet anemone's, because I'd really like one of those too! :D

That's a lot of money for snowflakes. In Phoenix they are less then half that price & still don't sell many.

In my search to find a reasonably priced Bali Picasso I was told by a few breeders in Florida and New York that the Bail Picasso is from Doni lineage. That's why some of the Balis have face markings and partial helmets which originated in Doni's Snowcassos.

I guess you are entitled to your opinion but I heard this information from several breeders so I tend to believe them over the information you get from a person who is selling the Bali Picassos. If I was you local dealer I would say the same thing too. You seem to take this very personally. Are you the local dealer?

Live Aquaria Divers Den has sold pairs of the Bali Picasso's.....as having been bred in Bali. And I don't think anyone in the hobby has a better reputation then Kevin Kohen.

No one said the fish were not bred in Bali. I think everyone agrees with that information. It's the true lineage of the fish that are in question.

I am one of those fools who owns a bonded pair of Gold Nuggets they are turning Gold as if last month they host their Nem [URL="http://youtu.be/fjDEr4E1G_o[/URL] this is the submission dance. Soon there will be a broad of eggs in the flower pot even at wholesale and finding 60 premium fish per year it's $16k in profit I'm sure a $200 a fish I'll find quite a few takers. Keep in mind they typically produce eggs every couple months and lay between 1500 and 6,000 eggs for all intensive purposes they are maroon clown fish one of the most prolific egg laying fish in saltwater aquariums

I don't mean to burst your bubble, but I think that's a lot of wishful thinking. The submission dance just establishes hierarchy. In the video it appears that the pair are quite small, so it could be years before they breed, if ever. By that time, the prices on GN should've dropped down significantly.

Based on the fact that DD seems to have trouble selling them, I'm guessing there isn't much demand, especially on the domestic front. There is currently a pair for $999.99 and a single for $449.99 which IIRC, was $599 a couple of weeks ago. Maybe your price of $200 will fetch more buyers.

Regardless, I wouldn't consider them the most sought out pairs of clownfish as the OP was asking.

Agreed they are young turning 1 yr old this month based on ORA shipping guidelines and 23 months in their own tank before moving to the big tank, we are about 10-14 months out yet.
If you jump over to DFWMAS you'll see people paying $5-$75 for snowflake and platinum snowflakes all day long. Based on 3 closed threads and multiple discussions I don't think my numbers are too far off. He dropping 50-100 fish off at local stores every couple months, lots of breeders are seeking out that type of return...

So what do we base most sought after on?..

Here are pictures of $10,000 Clownfish

So if rarity brings the highest price per fish does the dollar value give the answer of most sought after? Like a rare sports car, a famous painting?

If you base it on number of pairs sold sales then Nemo would be your answer? As they are outselling every other breed of Clownfish 20-1

If your just buying to look at them, it is the one you desire most

IMHO There is no definitive answer to OP based until we define what "sought after really means"

What about Extreme frozen frostbite and extreme frozen buckshot blackice clowns, how do they fair in sale? The frostbite frozen is similar to the Wyoming.

Lol. Yeah i saw a forum selling these with the names i mentioned but have never heard of such a clown with a name so long.

You found someone selling an EMDETTMTLT clown?!?

Actually no, because the second and third stripe do not connect, they cannot be called EMDETTMTLT, and grade B at that.

Also, because they had more black than orange, they have to be called dr pepper mandarin orange double dipped cone four banger clown.
