I want to go with bluer bulbs than my 10k 250w hami's but not as blue as the 14's.(I don't like how they cause shadowing in the tank)Any suggestions? Thanks seth.
Originally posted by SSTG shimmer comes from the water motion. The shadowing I am speaking of is dark spots.I'm thinking of doing 10k's and 7100pc's.
are you serious? it is the way that the water reflects the light do to its undulation. therefore it reflects the light in different directions. thus forming ever changing shadows.
--the type of light that MH bulbs put out makes shadow just like the sun does. that is one of their main cahracteristics that differs from other synthetic light.
if you are refering to 7100k, that will be more yellow
what i'm wanting lonnie is to get bluer color out of the mh's.So I think what i'll do is 10k mh hami's and 7100pc instead of the 03's.The 7100's are blue instead of the black light look. And are brighter.
Just add actintics...either vho or T5 or PC. Not all 10k's are the same. I am running a 250 watt Ushio 10K in the center and 150 watt XM's on each side and I can tell you the XM's are much bluer than the Ushio. I am probably going to grab a 250 watt XM for the center now. dangit
I'll snap a few pics and see if the difference shows up.
It's A hamilton hood jack I can't add any more bulbs it has 03's in it now though. And thats what i'm saying bulbs differ dramatically in color even with the same kelvin # so I was wanting your guys opinion on which bulbs were not as blue as the hami 14k's.Chad there DE.Thanks guys for your help.
I think 14k bulbs are awesome personally. I run mine w/o actinics. I think they are pretty sweet. 14k isn't that much of a change from 10k. It also really varies bulb to bulb.
