which clown fish for RBTA?

I have planned on getting a RBTA and I wanted to know which clownfish will mostly host it in a tank...i currently have 2 black percula clown fish and 2 perculas. I am thinking of trading them in and maybe getting a pair of the ones listed below...according to the book "Natural Reef aquarium" these have the best chance of hosting with RBTA.

Bluestripe
Tomato

Percs may eventually host into the RBTA. If they are wild percs they have a higher chance of hosting the RBTA. My wild percs hosted into my RBTA after a two days.

The clowns you listed to trade for are natural host for the RBTA but keep in mind they are aggressive and more than likely will bite your hand when you put your hand into tank to work.

my current clowns are tank breds...should i just let them be for now?

i also have a frogspawn, aussie torch and hammer coral currently in the tank

I personally like percs better than the other species. If you are patient then I would let it be. RBTA are easier species to keep vs some of the other ones such as the carpets (haddoni and gigantea) which is the natural host for percs.

Get some skunk clownfish. I have a pair and have 5 RBTA in my tank. They go in all if them.

Haddoni= BIG, Usually need sandbed, Eat ALL kinds of fish, even their clowns sometimes
Low flow, Bright Lights. very stable tank

Gigs = BIGGER, LOTS of flow, Bright lights, rock point of some type usually. and a VERY POOR SHIPPER. Very stable tank.

Your 1st nem should really be some type of BTA, lots of real cool colors out there too!

My tank bred percs only took about 24 hours to host a mag. nem I had but the mag kept going in my overflow so I replaced him with a RBTA. They took to him in less than an hour.

And IME almost any clown Ive had ends up being mean and only get more so if theyre hosting a nem. The females are always more aggressive and are usually the biters

Yep. All of that really.

Once you get to the point where your crucial parameters are stable, your tank probably isn't yet. You still may have a series of algae blooms along with microfauna blooms over the next few months that affect the parameters that you test for and some that you don't normally measure.

6 months and stable parameters is usually the best way to go.
