Which clown?

Hi there.

My female occelaris just died recentrly. im thinking about getting rid of the male and maybe get another clown species, maybe a species which would almost defenetly ost my GBTA, any ideas? which clown species do you like the most?

how are they temperment vise?

temperament wise they are friendly and free swimming they cruise around the whole tank and are non aggressive to other fish in the tank

Will they host a BTA?

If you want something definite for a BTA, then maroon, tomatoe, clarkii. Almost certainly an onyx would go to a BTA. Temperment-wise, the onyx would be more docile than any of the definites I mentioned.

Get a wild caught clown. I have 13 clowns in various tanks, and only the two wild ones have hosted anything other than a rock. None of the tank breds had even looked at the anemones. My B&Ws actully stayed on the opposite side of the tank.

Which anemone´s do they prefer hosting?

I stand corrected... one of my tank bred b&w's was found this morning trying to host an anemone... until the owner caught him. my 5 inch cinnamon quickly chased him off, but for about 5 mins, the b&w was having a good ole time. first time I've witnessed my tank raised fish in an anemone. I just cant id the anemone for you. it stays in the sand, never moves, shrivels up at night, and is purple.

Eldouble, you might have a Macrodactyla doreensis, based on the very brief description you gave. You could look for pics online and recognize it most likely. This website or WetWebMedia would probably have pics of whatever species you are keeping.

I've had black saddlebacks host in a bubbletip before.The problem was the female claimed the anemone as her territory and chased the male away all the time.
