Which clowns more likely to host haddoni

hobbzz

How do I change this?
I've got a blue haddoni, a mag, a pair of pink skunks in the mag, and a pair of percs showing no interest in the carpet. Separate tanks. Between percs and pink skunks, which are more likely to take to a carpet? I know there are no guarantees, but one species should be more likely I would think. Thanks in advance.

For none of your clowns a haddoni is a natural host.
Both would host a magnifica or gigantea, so I would say the odds are evenly unlikely.

S. haddoni is a natural host for the following clownfish:

A. akindynos
A. chrysogaster
A. chrysopterus
A. clarkii
A. polymnus
A. sebae

ThRoewer is right. But in captivity a lot can happen. I have a pair of orange skunks hosting in a Haddoni right now. Many are able to get ocellaris to host in a BTA, although not a natural host. I have never seen an ocellaris in a haddoni, so that must be a tougher combo, but it may be possible. In general, I have had better luck getting the natural hosts of S. Mertens to accept a haddoni than only those that host in gigantea. Of couse, clarkI clowns host in anything!

Clarkii (and some others of the clarkii complex) will host almost any anemone, not just non host anemones but Atlantic and even non-photosynthetic anemones.
I had a juvenile chrysogaster forcing himself on an Atlantic Actinia species that was in diameter just as much as the fish in length.
I have seen clarkii accepting Condylactis as hosts.

I have had babies Percula hosted by Haddoni, adult Percula hosted by Haddoni but rare if any Ocellaris hosted by Haddoni. I had several baby Ocellaris got eaten by Haddoni. Enough that I never try to get my Snowflakes in a Haddoni.

Your "percs", if they are Percula, I would try Haddoni with them. They keep their black. Magnifica my cause fading of the black in Percula. If they are Ocellaris, I would leave them with the Magnifica.

I have 3 snowflake clowns who are hosted by my haddonis Lay eggs like clockwork, been with me for 3 years and the black is very black :)
