Which corals spread like weeds?

Anthelia's grow dramatically fast if you like those , I destroyed them off a rock that was completely covered it was 10''x4'' and in 6 months got covered completely again.

Pulsing Xenia grow crazy fast for me. I pull them off the rocks with forceps and toss them in the crapper. Better nutrient export than macro algae!

In the world of stony corals, plating montipora and Hollywood Stunner chalices can grow very fast and outgrow the space allotted to them. But I wouldn't call them weeds.

Reefers can be a hard to please bunch. They complain when corals grow too slowly and they complain when corals grow too fast. The Goldilocks dilemma.

blue clove polyps man at least with gsp you can trim them off and section them off. my tank with polyps will ride the current to other areas of the tank.

Green star does grow very well, but I like the look and don't have too much problem pulling it off or cutting it from the rock work to keep it in check. Same with the Xenia if I keep it on its own rock in the sand. If it gets onto the main rock work though, it'll take off. Kind of cool to watch it migrate though, and a sharp razor will remove it.
We all like what we like!

I dont mind things that grow fast but are easy to trim back and have a benefit. Xenia eats up nitrate and doesnt engage in biological warfare. Same with most zoas.

My list of pests include GSP which can deplete magnesium, and green implosion palys that spread randomly and can irritate sensitive corals. Rhodactis shrooms are also pests and can sting other corals and be very difficult to remove.

+1 on the Kenya Tree, GSP, and Hollywood Stunner! I got rid of the Kenya and GPS before they took over the tank. As for my Hollywood Stunner it started as a quarter size piece and in a year or so was a 12"x 18" piece that I frag often

blue clove polyps are probably the worst since there isn't a good way to remove them unlike xenias, gsp, and any of the others already mentioned. you can't section them off since they spread in the current as well. pretty much given up since the only option now is to nuke the tank with 1 of those antifungals

Most cyphastreas, briarium, gsp, xenia, some monti caps (red, green), encrusting montis (rainbow, mystic, etc), some leptos, lithos, and leptastreas (fast but not super fast. I have a couple chalices that grow like mad. The ones with tons of mouths.

Xenia and spotted mushrooms for me. I think the mushrooms are the worst of the two. They detach themselves, tumble around the tank till they find a new home they like.
