Which Light?

Neither is suitable for "cover anything"..
Both are suitable for "low light" corals..

IMO.. Pick up a 165W Galaxy Hydro or Mars Aqua off Amazon/Ebay.. Right around $100 shipped and capable of growing anything in a 40B.. Pick up 2 lamp timers to turn them on/off daily..

Now they are just 2 channels and no timer or fancy "dimming/storm modes,etc..".. But they have wifi version of those also that have more control..

While 1 is enough for a 40b as far as wattage unless you hang it quite a bit above the tank you might find it doesn't cover to the ends of the tank that well..

I run 2 x 120W similar lights on mine..dials set somewhere around maybe 30%white/40%blue channel.. I run them with the long side going front to back maybe 10" above the tank in my canopy and it gives excellent coverage all the way to the edges.. I have no problem burning the most light demanding corals if needed.. So beware.. But its $200 and you are totally "covered"

If you want the full 6 channel control and sunrise/sunset (all unnecessary IMHO) look at the Reef Breeders Photon V2 at 32". It's more expensive than the fixtures mcgyvr suggested, but they are good fixtures. I have 1 over my reef and 1 over my display refugium. Although the control in these fixtures isn't required to grow coral (the MarsAqua will do that just fine), I happen to enjoy seeing the changes as the day evolves.

Ron, your tanks look spectacular! Way to come back after your crash! Bravo sir!

I have the new AI Hydra 26 lights and love them. They have a very wide range of color and intensity adjustments. A little more cost than the 2 you are looking at but I highly recommend them.
