mfinn, do u use electronic ballasts with the radiums?

On my zoanthid tank I use a PFO HQI ballast.
I've also used the Radium on my softy tank and that has IceCap ballasts.

I agree that the Phoenix 14k look great. I changed bulbs about 2 months ago. I'm trying the 20k radiums.. they are very nice, but I will most likly go back to the 14k phoenix.

lesh, I see u have DE bulbs. I have SE. do u think the Phoenix DE would be the same as SE?

Some people are saying DE= phoenis 14K
SE= radium

anybody ever use EVC bulbs from reefscience?

Do a search for EVC here on RC and you'll find many people here are very happy with their EVC lamps!

Hope this helps,

I use to use EVC bulbs in the beginning and I only had one problem with them.I run 3 250s over my tank and it was hard getting all 3 bulbs to have the same color.I now use blue line bulbs and I love them for the color.They have the bluest 14k that Ive used in my 5 years of keeping reef tanks.

Biger- Sorry i didn't get back sooner, but i was on vacation. Anyway I havn't used an SE bulb before. One of my friends does use them and they look very nice. I'm guessing they would look very similar. One thing I'm not sure of is the heat differance between the two. I have 2 ice cap variable speed fans cooling my DE's. The SE being a bigger bulb with more surface area producing more heat. Like I said though, I havn't had much experience with the SE bulbs. Good luck
