I have a Aquapod 24g with the 70w sunpod fixture and I want to upgrade to a 150w. I am looking at the current sundial hanging pendant with buit in timers and 2x32w dual actinic and the sunpod 150w. Any and all pros and cons would be great I found them on bedding.com I think that was the web site for about $100 difference in price. Does anyone know the measurements of the sundail pendant DR.s gives 13.5x15x6 and everywhere online gives it 15x12x6 just would like to know how wide (deep) the pendant is?

Thanks for the help

I posted this in the lighting forumn too. didn't know if I would get more help here or in the lighting forumn hope I don't make anyone made for that

That pendant looks pretty cool but I don't want to hang anything in my house. I'm seriously thinking about going for one of the viper 150 MH's on the articulating clamp. No actinics but if I put in a 20k bulb it might do the trick. Being a nano..coral growth isn't as rewarding as you have limited space. Still going through the pro's n con's in my head though :)

I am just wondering if the 2 actinic bulbs would add more color to the coral and if it would be worth it over the sunpod with just the MH. I have the 70w sunpod with the stock 14k bulb and coral colors aren't the greatest just don't pop out at ya. I am trying to search and find pictures of a tank that has had just MH and then MH with actinic

I will be getting the Viper for my 20L in a few days (hopefully). PM Minhle100 and tell him Crackerballer (Josh) sent you. He has GREAT prices on the Sunpods and JBJ stuff. He will DEF hook you up.

downsides about hang on lights are that they are usless if you go up in tank sizes. The pendents are better, but I am looking at the MH and t-5 retrofits on HelloLights and making a custom lighting source. The MH are $125-$135 with an elect. ballast then $65 for the bulb and $100 for two t-5 set ups plus free bulbs Cant really beat that. This is all for a 20L too.

seems like a lot of light to me! i'm running a 175 W MH setup over a 10 gallon nano with a 20 K. Bulb. But with that much light? that just seems like an awful lot!

that light is awsome but the free shipping offer was over in december of last year, and when i clicked on it it said they were out of stock. The price seems to good to be true, a full MH setup with actinics for under $200? I will def. be looking for this one though because even at reg. retail price of 250 its still a damn good deal. I have a 29g which is 24" tall and this would be awesome.

That fixture is also commonly available on Ebay from a seller called hombby. I've read a couple of reviews of them and will probably replace my crappy 150w Viper with one in spring. Stay away from Aquatraders though, I've heard bad things...

Yeh, that thing is sweet but did you guys notice the angle on the PC's? They seem to be angled outward, so i wonder if more light would be going outside of the tank than down into it. It would get annoying if everytime you looked at the tank you saw the bottom of those actinics blaring at you.

It is made by Jebo, also know commonly as "Fire Starter". While I can not state this from personal experience, I have read alot about Jebo lights frying theselves and other things around them. I have also heard about a lot of bad things about aqua traders too.
Buy quality stuff because: "The bitterbess of poor quality remains long after te sweetness of price is forgotten"

What I have skimmed thru on the other posts about the Jebo odyssea MH lights are they electronic ballasts instead of magnetic the starter in the magnetic ballast was blowing up and causing fires. If they made that hood with a 150w MH instead of a 250w I think I would go for the jebo especially for the price but I think all of you agree that it is to much light. If I am wrong please let me know. I would like to keep zoo's, mushrooms, torch, leather and some hard corals. The place where I found current products so cheap is iHome.com, Bedding.com, luxury bedding.com. I think they are all 3 the same company I hope they would be good to do business with unlike coralsplus.com that took $150 from me
