which nanostream for a 90

i can;t decide between 2 6045 or 3 6025. since tunze pumps push water in a different way than normal powerheads will 3 6025 be too little? or will the 6045 be too much, that;s 25X flowrate and i also have the return which will bring the flowrate to over 30X.
i have a sandbed so i'm just worried that i'm going to have some trouble placing the 6045 without blowing sand everywhere.

I would go with the 6045, the 6025 covers a 2ft by 18" area, the 6045 is 3ft by 18".

I was wondering about the right Tunze product for my 90-gallon tank also. I was thinking that even 2 opposing 6045's would be too small and I might have to step up to 2 of the 6000's. My concern is that the 6045 only covers 3 feet of the 4-foot tank.

plus the 6000 can be upgraded to the 6100 if you ever decide to go bigger.

i have 6000 on my 3' tank and I am probably going to get another one w/ multicontroller soon.

FWIW, I use a 6100 and a wavebox on a 120, the minimum flow I would target for a reef is 20 times turn over, I really think 2 6045's is the minimum.

You can alternate them on timers and depending on positioning this is likely not to much, the hypoteneuse if you place the pumps in back corners aimed to front center is a 30" distance, this would give some bounce back, but it still is not going to be torential flow by any means. The 6025 is so gentle it is suitable for a 20 gallon tank.

6025's arrived today and we will start shipping them on Monday. The 6045 is not yet in production, they won't start production for 1-2 more weeks on the 6045, I expect them to be here in 3 weeks. The mold for the 6045 is finished but has not been tempered and it has to be sent off for this to be done.

What about the 6055 model? When will it be released and what about the controller for this unit? Is it an existing controller or a new product? If new when will it be ready and what about the price point for the single and multi controller?

Also, would 2 ea. of the 6055 on a controller be ok for a 90 AGA?

It works with the existing 7091 and 7095. If you are mainly focusing on SPS, the 6000's would be the better way to go, otherwise the 6055's should be fine. They should be out around the end of the year.

Roger, are you saying they can be put on a standard wavemaker and turned on and off? How often can they tolerate the on and off?

No, a wavemaker cycles them too fast, any more than one on and off cycle every 15 minutes voids the warranty makes the pumps chatter and dramatically reduces the life of the pump.

How about the seio controller that cycles the pumps from 30-100% of full? It seems like the seio pumps have the same issues as the tunze do.

Wavemakers are very hard on pumps, especially prop pumps has they have to spin the right way to work. The Seio controller will only work with Seios. If you want a controllable nano Stream the 6055 will be controllable from 30% -100% with the 7095 or 7091 controller.
