Which of your Zoo or Paly's love high light, high tank placement?

Title says most of it. I know every coral likes different areas of a tank depending on a lot of different factors, but zoo's/paly's do you have that thrive high up in the tank?

What kind of lighting do you run? Can you briefly describe your set-up and kindly post a pic of the coral you're talking about?

I'm looking for something that will do better high in my tank where I have a ledge that is bare right now. The area gets good flow in my 20g and I'm running 2x55w PC. Thanks a ton folks,

I also have a 20g nano and all my zoas sit on top of a ledge or on frag racks up high with the exception of my Grandis frag which is at the bottom on the sand bed. This is temporary till I get my 75g cycled as a mixed reef tank. Right now the zoas sit under a 70watt viper clipon and 24watt actinic supplement.

at one point I had almost every zoa/paly frag on a frag rack about 4" from my lights. I have 6x39w t5's. all of them had great color and growth.

I did the same when I had 2x250 mh with 2x110 vho actinics. my frags exploded and the colors were as good as they ever were.

NG, PH, Armors, LOR, Eagle Eyes, Raptors, Mohawks, Sunny D Rainbows, Tubs, Nightmares just to name a few. These types usually need high light from the start to retain color.

All my zoas are about 8" from my lights (2x250w mh) except for my purple deaths. They tend to turn brown with high lighting but grows pretty good. I have about 40+ types of zoas. just acclimate them from lower to high light slowly. Colors are more intense and growth is great for 90% of them.

I love PD's but they only tend to stay purple under like a shady area. i tried moving them out from under the rock and turned maroon almost instantly. its on the sand too... how do i acclimate it slowly. i've had it for like 5 mos already :(

PD's generally don't like too much light. Just for example of a PD just getting the right amount of shad and light.

Side shot, not a TOP DOWN, For more real reference of what you see looking at the tank not looking from the top of it. This is the actual color I see when I look at the front of the tank to view it, and not have to look from the top down to get that color.

I took it off that spot and now has the brown with purple/violet tinge.
