Marshall
Never said anything about his store (I know he moved to a smaller store and doesn't have that much in corals as before). All I said is he was a good guy who help me in the past when I was getting started. Also I know a good part of his business now is tank maintenance. That was the reason I reply to KittyKitty. I still buy dry goods from him and is still helpfull when I have a question or need somthing special order. No don't do crack just trying to be helpfull. No hard feeling Marshall.

ok pato no problem i was just venting because the last time i was in his store i saw corals and anenomes melting in his tanks, and alot of saltwater fish with ich and bacterial infections and it just made me sick that somebody would take the responsibility for housing these creatures of nature with no clew on how to take care of them

this was about 1 or 2 years ago.

i hope the conditions have changed since than

that is why i said what i said

i personaly would not recomend somebody to help somebody else who could not even take care of their own animals properly!

no hard feelings toward you

take care

interesting perspective jeff, given the lack of response to my issue with the blenny...

not sure what to make of that.

joel you had the blenny for 1 week
most stores do a 24-72 hour gaurantee with a water test when purchased.

but sure come back and i will give you another one for 1/2 price with a 1 month gaurantee if it makes you happy

thanks MM

P.S. I KNOW THAT ELECTRIC LIME GREEN SERPENT STAR THAT I SHOULD HAVE CHARGED YOU ! AT LEAST DOUBLE FOR IS DOING GREAT.

FUNNY HOW YOU LEFT THAT OUT!!!

green serpent stars typically sell for between $15-$25 I paid $20. I notified you of the blenny's poor state on day 3 and again on day 6 so not sure what the issue there is. Anyway, thanks.

The one thing you have to admit is the marshall manns set up is not lacking. He does put alot of time and effort into his system and If you did stop in to pick up your live stock you would have to agree. I know that may no be your issue here, but from what I saw every thing was extreamly heathy and I would atribute it to his husbandry techniques.

yes joel green!

not electric lime green like the one i sold you.

well that will teach me not to sell the best of the best to a 1st time customer, especially when it comes to something as rarely seen as what i sold you.

but no hard feelings

my offer still stands.

if you want another lawnmower blenny i will do it for 1/2 price and gaurantee it for 1 month, but please bring me a water sample to test

thanks MM

Why isn't sho tank on the list? This is the most honeststore/ owner i have ever met in the industry.
Steve Sea Shore is not a honest guy, i have talked to several of his clients and they are not happy with his treatment. Jason at his store is knowalgable, to bad he works for such a crook.

Interesting post considering the recent posts flaming living seas for very valid complaints. Perhaps ChicagoReef wants to tell us the "inside" truth about living seas....

MM, went to see Matt at Sho Tank this afternoon, you're right he gets my vote for favorite/best saltwater store. I'm sorry I haven't stop out there more. Matt's honest and has never tried to feed me bs. His fish are always healthy, and from the corals I saw, he's got a healthy system running for them too. Didn't seem to stock too much sps, but lot's of good stuff for mixed tanks like mine!!!!! Brought home some beautiful Zoo's.

Scotts has good prices, but poor quality fish - tanks full of ich, and bacterial infections, but worst of all is the tank full of say 20 flame hawks (of course they are all beat up). They also stock a lot of difficult if not impossible creatures - nudibranchs, sea apples, sea horses, flame scallops and the like. They do have good dry goods and prices though.
Living sea has nice fish and drygoods but are way overpriced. And I mean wayyyy overpriced.

So, I like Old Town Aquarium the best. Great fish selection - especially if you like the rare and unusual. Knowledgeable staff but the drygoods selection is poor. Prices are high, (but not living Sea high). But I will pay more to go to a nice store that takes care of the animals and hires good employees.
