Which Pump Is Better For My Setup

I have a 90 AGA Megaflow with a 30 gallon sump. The rest you can see in the sig.

The Mag 7 I have now is kinda noisy. It started off pretty quiet but I starting to sound louder to me lately. (I'll keep the Mag 7 as a back up.)

Which pump would be best to replace the Mag 7 with, the Ehiem 1250 or 1260?

Regards,

Pat

You can't go wrong with the Eheim pumps, they are so great! Quiet, enrgy efficient, reliable, etc. If your overflow can handle the extra flow, go with the 1260.

Just my 2 cents...

Noise aside, how do you like the flow from the Mag7? If you want more, get the 1260. If you want less, get the 1250.

I think either one would be fine, and I agree with sjm817 on picking the one you want based on desired flow. I had a 1262 on my 90 and IMO it was way too much flow for my single megaflow. I went with the 1250 because I wanted minimal noise and I'm getting the main flow in my tank via powerheads. I think the 1260 would work great as well -- more flow, but probably not too much.

Thanks Jack and others. The flow I have is just fine. I think it could be a bit more and not hurt anything. It's just a sump and not a fuge, although there is some rock rubble and cheato in there. I think a bit more flow would keep the cheato a little cleaner.

Thanks for the input.

Pat
