which sand you have chose?

Hi guys
which sand does everyone going with? which one have lot of fine grid and can't stay put and which are heavier that doesn't get blow around by powerhead. thanks

I use Caribsea Aragamax or Aragalive. I have setup most tanks using Aragalive to expedite the cycling process. In my personal tanks I have used Aragamax. Both have the same grade and is heavier so powerheads have a harder time kicking up the sand. I used fine grain sand in my DSB in my sump.

The caribsea special grade reef sand is pretty popular as it's a little more coarse and doesn't blow around a lot. I use the caribsea bahamas oolite which is a very fine sand. I like the look of the fine sand, but it does blow around easy if you're not careful.

Agreed with GimpyFin, I have Bahamas Oolite and it's a pain sometimes but looks really nice. Moving anything fast is a sure way to have cloudy water for hours with the fine sand.
