Which skimmer for 29 gallon?

I have an option to buy a seaclone 100 for a decent price, but it needs a few items to get it running. Still worth it for the price. But I have no idea on how good they are.

What would you recommend? I need a HOB style. Thanks for your help in advance.

I am getting ready to set up a 29, and I bought a super skimmer 220 off a guy I know pretty cheap, so that is what I am going to use. may be overkill, but it should be pretty clean

I read a thread about the Odyssea PS75 from Aquatraders.com that had mixed results, but at only about $30.00, I ordered one for my 25gallon. It's supposed to be in today, so I can't comment on how it works yet. Here's a link to the thread:

Alot of people badmouth Aquatraders, but i've ordered a few times from them and never had any problems with their products... although, they say customer service for them is terrible, but at only $30.00, who cares.

I've had a CPR BakPak on my 29 gallon for two weeks now. Seems to work well so far. This is my first ever skimmer that I have owned.

BakPaks are a great skimmer for the price, just take the bio-bale media out.

The AquaC skimmers are awesome, never get a bad review. You can't go wrong with one of their smaller versions for your tank.

Also, consider the Schuran Jetskim 100. It doesn't look flashy but Schuran skimmers are top quality and they are some of the best skimmers available. They pull a LOT of gunk, even in freshwater!

haha I'm running a euroreef on a 29... haha

I think a remora or a coral life skimmer works best. They can be HOB

Wow, old reefer, you are pretty confident in your tunze. Is it really that good? You my have put me off of a remora?

They are basicly the same price, the tunze is dead silent, once it breaks in set it and forget it, I have used many skimmers over the years and the Tunze has out performed every one

I've got CPR's dual BacPak on my 29 gallon and it does a great job with the bio-bale removed. I've heard the Aqua-C Remora is a good skimmer for that size tank too.

People on here really put down SeaClones but I used one and it did alright. When I got a sump the SeaClone didn't fit so got a nano remora. Very nice skimmer but pricey.

I used a Remora Urchin w/ upgraded pump..thats the in sump version...on a 55 in my sump. My Tunze pulls more from my 24g AP than the remora did from my 55 and I only have 2 fish in my 24g. The tunze fit perfectly in back section of my AP. I don't have any knowledge on the question being asked. But thats my experiance with a remora and a Tunze.

Tunze all the way was the best $$$ I have spent on my tank besides the 6045 nanostream by Tunze, they are so quiet yet so powerful

Tunze Nano 9002 will out perform any of the above listed skimmers is dead silent and carries a 2 yr warranty

Do you have pics or video of this skimmer in action?

My tunze isn't "dead" silent but it is very quiet. No louder than the hum from the MH ballast or powerheads but I can hear if I'm looking up close for a side view, nose to the glass close :) Gotta keep on the look out for bad critters.
