Which skimmer for IM NUVO Concept Abyss?

I have a Innovative Marine NUVO Concept Abyss Peninsula Drop Off Aquarium - 20 Gallons (Model 0902) and looking for a fitting skimmer.

The tank will be primarily filled with macro algae and maybe some zoa and a couple of hardy corals.

Current fish and invert stock:
- a pair of Doryrhamphus janssi (Janss' Pipefish)
- a pair of Stonogobiops yasha (Yasha Goby)
- a pair of Alpheus randalli (Red Banded Pistol Shrimp)

Further I may add the following:
- a pair of Doryrhamphus exisus (Blue Stripe Pipefish) - if they get along with the janssi
and either
- a pair of Stenopus tenuirostris (Blue Banded Coral Shrimp) or a pair of Stenopus zanzibaricus (Zanzibar Boxer Shrimp)

And a suitable clean-up crew (mostly snails)

The skimmer bay of this model allows a footprint of 4" x 2.75" and a height of 10"

These are the skimmers I have found to fit:

Tunze Comline DOC Protein Skimmer 9001
4.3" x 2.5" x 8.5"
rated for 37 gallon (15 for high bioload or SPS)

Innovative Marine AUQA Gadget Ghost Protein Skimmer - DeskTop
3.58" x 2.28" x 9.84"
rated for 20 gallon

Which is the better one?

Any other skimmer that would be suitable or better?

I was browsing google and I found your post and these forums, but I wanted to ask did you ever find a good skimmer for the NUVO concept Abyss Penninsula? I bought a Panorama and I have been debating if I should buy the IM skimmer or going with a different brand.

I got the IM skimmer. It's OK, but I would wish for something better. Given that this is from the same manufacturer, I have to say that it is rather poorly Incorporated.

Ah, that's what I was afraid of. I have read mixed reviews on it. I was hoping the comline 9001 would work but the 4.3" clearance needed makes me wary of buying and it not fitting. Thanks!

Pretty much only the Ghost Desktop fits back there, I've looked around, however, it's not that bad of a skimmer. I do have a hack for it though. If you cut rubber tubing and slip them over the bottom, the skimmer instantly quiets down. I have a piece on the side so it's isolated from the tank as well. Just make sure to open the air valve all the way. My microbubble issue was because the valve was closed.

Hey man, check out my videos on YouTube, "samuraiantt". I have set up a NUVO 10 and I have it cycling right now. It's a eshops nano skimmer it's good for about 30 gallons and the tank is in the cycling process and it's already pulling out some stinky stuff
