Which Skimz Skimmer?

Looking at either of the two skimmers for my 180g build..
both are rated at way over 180g but is it true the bigger the better?

any advice?

Sm203 that's a great deal right for 350 you can't beat it

Unless you are planning an insane fish load or going to expand the system beyond the display I see no reason to go with the bigger one, in fact, the smaller one would be more appropriate. I know its tempting because of the price difference, but that big one is a monster and you may have to run it part time to get good production. Anyway, that's my opinion. I believe in oversizing, that is just plain overkill, LOL!

wow they are nice. I'm looking for a new skimmer also. I have a aqua euro use 400 ( old skool) running on my 150gal. it works fine ( so I think) but wanted to know if anyone knows any mods for it or has use it b4.

The bigger one believe it or not is only 1 inch wider footprint according to the specs

ended up going with the 203 which is the bigger one, I have the room in my sump and for 10$ more why not!! cant wait to get it!! :bounce1:

Be cautious of those skimz pumps. In any case get a replacement pump.

BRS is not going anywhere for a long time. They have taken full authority on all warranty claims. If you have a problem with your pump or skimmer just contact them direct. The pump is made by a Italian company so I don't think you should worry. I don't BRS would tarnish their rep to make a few bucks on skimmers.

I run the skimz SV253 Oval on the display tank at our store and it's been awesome. Rock solid once it's set and it was a breeze to find the sweet spot. BRS has also told me up and down they are building and standing behind this brand 100%. I think you'll be really happy with it.
